This is an awesome science shirt. "The good thing about science is that it's true, whether or not you believe in it". Is a quote by Neil degrasse Tyson. Now, what is Tyson saying exactly here? Is he saying that all scientific discoveries are ironclad laws and should not be observed, analyzed or questioned? No. The scientific community as well as regular people, know that scientific 'truths' are sometimes proven wrong at later dates from the time they were first discovered. Newtonian physics offers a different theory of gravity than Einstein's relativity, but both have been presented as 'true' at some point in time. Ironclad laws, like radioactive decay, have shown to have some variables to it that compromise our once established truth of its implications. So how is this statement accurate? Couldn't science be the 'new religion'? It's an accurate statement because science is perpetually on a quest for truth. A rigorous process called 'the scientific method' is applied and tested endlessly to establish something as 'true'. If we find later that we were missing some data, we reconstruct the premise and build on the truth. Scientists admit that they can be wrong, are on a continual quest for knowledge and revision; and if something cannot be proven, it's deemed as theory. When was the last time you heard about "the theory of Jesus" from a Christian? That's why this is an accurate t-shirt, because science is the path to real truth, whether you believe in it or not.
